MOSCOW — Dozens of women dressed in colorful hijabs and floral dresses gathered under gray skies recently in the garden of a four-star hotel here for a charity fashion bazaar. They tried on styles from local designers and sampled new cosmetics, posing for selfies and dropping sunny filters on the images before posting them to Instagram and Facebook.

Earth 2.0: Good News for Our Under-standing of God
What an exciting year it's been for astronomy and astrobiology -- the discovery of water on moons in our solar system, and on Pluto and possibly Mars. In addition, there is the recent news about Kepler-452b, or "Earth 2.0" as some have described it. There will surely be a lot more amazing news to come as our understanding of the cosmos, and the potential for other life in it, grows.
Together with our expanding understanding of the universe, we should also discuss the implications for a part of human life that has been with us for as long as we know: religion. My fellow Huffington Post blogger, Jeff Schweitzer, argued in his article "Earth 2.0: Bad News for God" that... never mind, the title says it all. If I understood "God" and "religion" the same way he describes in the article, I would agree with his conclusions; but by taking a broader view of "God" and "religion," I see the opposite.

Americans are all for religious freedom — but disagree on who can claim it.
Diverse religious groups are recognized — but Christians and Jews are significantly more welcome than atheists, and many don’t see a welcome mat for Muslims. And not everyone means the same thing when speaking of a “Christian” nation.
You are free to speak but not if you are a Muslim.

Gun store owner hit with lawsuit after declaring shop "Muslim free zone"
A Muslim rights group is now one step closer to having a judge determine if an Inverness gun store owner can deny customers based on their religious views.
Andy Hollinan, owner of Florida Gun Supply, declared his store a "Muslim free zone" in an online video. He was hit with a lawsuit Wednesday from the Council on American-Islamic Relations Florida, or CAIR FL. In the five-page suit, representatives with CAIR declared the Inverness gun store owner’s YouTube declaration a violation of every Muslims’ civil rights.
Discrimination law is for Muslims as well.
